Odd Products: Hot Edition

Ever walk down the aisle at your local Shop-mart™®© and come upon a product that was somewhat odd? Ever wonder about who would actually buy such a thing? Well, I wouldn't. I just like to take pictures of them and post them on the web. That's probably worse than buying them.

Love cook-outs? Like Pop-Tarts? Well, we have the product for you.

The hot dog toaster!

"Now You Can Enjoy Hot, Tasty Hot Dogs ANYTIME!"

Yum!

It seems like a huge waste of shelf space, right? Wrong. It's hot dog goodness at the press of a switch.

Speaking of hair care products...

I present to you "Dr. Miracle's Hot Gro 'Feel It' Formula". Nope, it's not a new erectile dysfunction medication. It's a scalp treatment. Just rub it on your head and it'll grow.

Your hair.

From the product's website:

And I quote(loosely)...
"'Feel It' Formula's tingling sensation supports strong growing..."
" Stimulates blood flow to the... helping to end slow growth problems."

Awesome!

Theories: Money

I've personally figured out a TOP SECRET government secret(yes, I know that when I said that it was "top secret" it covered that it was a secret, but I couldn't think of another word and I stuck with secret. Now get over it. Damn it! Now the word secret looks and sounds funny. Don't you hate it when you stare at/repeat a word over and over again and it loses it's meaning? Just me?).

I'm assuming that everyone knows that money has a date stamped on it. Whether it's a coin, or a bill, it's there. If you don't believe me, just pull a quarter out of your pocket(clean off the lint first, it may obstruct your view) and look for the grouping of four numbers. This is the year that the money was created for.

Face obscured to protect the innocent. I'll let you have your own adventure finding the date on paper money.

Now that you know that money is dated; it's time for the TOP SECRET part(yeah, it wasn't the date thing).

I've finally figured out why it is that they date money. It's so that people from the future can't go back in time and use their own money. Every year more and more money is printed and our money is worth less today than it was fifty years ago. Some really smart person figured out a long time ago that one day the time machine would be invented, and that inflation would make money from the future worth less than money from the past. That person knew that a couple of knuckleheads would try to pass their money off to buy goods, services, and even stocks in olde tymes and then reap the benefits in their newe tymes.

Obviously putting the dates onto money has worked. I've never once come across any money from the future. I bet that you haven't either. I'll give you a second to riffle through your purse/wallet...

Times up. Find any "future money"?

Didn't think so.

So, thank you person who had the good idea to date money. You've saved the future/past economy of the world.

Now don't tell the government that I let this secret(there's that damn word again) slip out. I bet that they don't think that the general populace could handle this shocking information. Just like they hide our lizard overlords in a secret(#!*%) bunker on Atlantis.

Note to self: Get a thesaurus.

BlogMusik

Just a quick recommendation. Check out BlogMusik. It's a site where you can search and listen to just about any song you can think of. I'm pretty sure that it's not legal in the RIAA's eyes, but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy this while it lasts. Maybe you can even discover something new.

Lost: Season 2

Lost: Season 2 is out on DVD today.

If you have never watched Lost, you really should. It's a well written drama/sci-fi/mystery series of hour long episodes. Each episode usually gives you a little more of the big picture as to why they are on the island. Episodes also focus on a single character's backstory, leading up to them becoming stranded. I can't recommend a show anymore than I can recommend Lost.

I didn't watch the show when it first aired in 2004, but I picked up the DVDs and was surprise by how much the story pulled me in. I actually sat there and watched about 12 straight episodes. I probably would have watched all of them if I didn't need to sleep/bathe/work.

A lot of people watch the show almost frame by frame trying to pick out little clues that may be lying around. They also like to find cross-overs in characters' backstories. It's interesting all of the little details that are slipped in by the writers and producers. If it weren't for the online Lost community, I would have missed just about every single one of these. A couple of really good Lost discussion groups are Lost-Forum.com and The Fuselage(the creative team and even some of the actors visit The Fuselage from time to time to chat with the fans).

Even during the off-season, you are still able to pick up a bit more of the story by following "The Lost Experience". It's an ARG(alternative reality game), which seems to be wrapping up. Right now players of this ARG are finding codes that give them fragments of videos which, when all are released, will be pieced together to give us all more of the Lost story. You can catch up with these here and here. It's not necessary to follow this game to follow the show, but it is an added bonus for fans.

Pick up the DVDs and catch up with the story before the Oct 4th season 3 premeire.
